These are my takeaways:

This was actually the second consecutive quarter of lower expectations.

More to come, in fact quarter after quarter.... if you work in the cloud area, you know nothing's working and nothing's gonna changes.

Next, the overall revenues are likely to decelerate. ORCL is now projecting that the top line for the current quarter will range from 2% to 4%. However, the Street was looking for 4.3%.

Wall Street wants to see a growth on a broader basis. And for the most part, it looks like ORCL is starting to suffer a deceleration. This is particularly troubling since the company is still in the early stages in its cloud efforts.

The cloud opportunity is not just about growth. If anything, for ORCL stock, this technology trend could pose a long-term threat to the core database business, which throws off substantial cash flows.

It's a long way down. I predict next year will be one quarter after another of decline. Oracle is dead. Cloud is a mess. There's not gonna be any sudden shift to functionality. The engineering teams are at each others throats. It's only gonna get worse.

Oracle is the only company that reports earnings in constant currency. Why you may ask? because of the dollar is strong, they can say earnings are impacted because of dollar strength. If the dollar is weak they can say we have stronger earnings thanks to currency fluctuations. It's heads I win, tails you lose.
