Q0pAXNt-3uta No I don’t, he’s full of sh--. We all knew this already. He said 40ish it was 60 plus, he took an educated guess, woop di doo
@1icv, remember when you said "Pop is full of sh--. He knows they just started closing sales at several stores (including st Clair shores kmart) but none have been officially announced but soon will be."
Bet you feel silly now...
@2mrq - Not entirely true. At Kmart, servicing vendors are sometimes aware of upcoming cancelations of service and let the store associates know. At Sears, sometimes leaks from the mall management office are the source; a wink, a nod or a tidbit from a mall associate can convey a lot of information. At our store the heads up came when a utility worker spoke of new lines that were to be installed outside our store; those new lines weren't for us! A store closing involves numerous entities and leaks are just a fact of life. These other entities don't just sit on their hands until SHLD makes an official announcement.
There's no such thing as "unofficial " acknowledgement that a store is closing as far as I'm aware... when it's decided it's kept in the down low until it's officially stated. No one, certainly not at the store level would know.
This is true, my store is closing but it has not been officially announced. We are expecting a visit this week to be told officially.
One full line Sears store and two Kmarts within 50 miles of my house and they are still running ads and running commercials ?
Dumb.

I heard today that our DM and someone above him is coming in on Wednesday......:/
@1xqv would say after Jan yes because I had a friend (when we use to have a kmart) where they closed it after January so this could mean that they are going to be here in holiday season and than close it after the selling season.
What popcorn posted is an estimate based on the fact that it's on the same day as the seritage earnings report.
I'm not popcorn but I'd say yes to some more KMarts closing because they always get hit so hard when the lists come out.
Are these closings for after Jan 1st?
I wonder if my Kmart will be announced
Is this including some Kmart closings?
It's the same day Seritage reports earnings; could some more recaptures be in the mix?
