Yes, the actual layoffs occurred on 05/12/2017. The company of course didn't disclose -- not that I've seen anyway -- the total of number of layoffs company-wide, or layoffs by geographic area.

yes, if you are a bad performer and in HR record you will get hit.
New mantra is voluntary exits package or get laid off later on if you are over 50.
Standard procedure in 2017. Corporations are desperate to hide their layoffs, and will do anything, including straight up lying to keep them hidden.
We are in a stealth recession, with media, govt, and corporations all working together to hide it.
