Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

JPM Chase DFW Layoffs Two Years Ago

I was laid off in September 2015. About 1,000 employees were laid off at that time. The hits were fairly isolated to Global Technology & Infrastructure (GTI).

At that point in time, GTI was about 50 Million over budget – hence the cuts, we kind of knew it was gonna to happen. The layoffs also had to do with strategic location.

DFW was not a GTI strategic location… One of GTI's dirty little secrets is they were understaffed and thus the overtime charged got them 50 million in the hole.

Also, they required you to get someone who did not work the same shift as you to agree to cover for vacation. Yep, cover for vacation just so you could take your vacation. This was never official HR policy and several people complained as well they should.

I bet Jamie Dimon would (should) go ballistic if he knew GTI was requiring this for people to take their vacation.

This "policy" vanished once it was announced GTI was 50 Million over budget.

Some GTI executives should but have not been laid off --- they created this mess.

I see, based on the posts on this site, they still have cuts. Some things never change.

Good luck to everyone who is still with the company.

Godspeed!
