Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Follett will do all it can to avoid paying severance

If your salary makes you unemployable elsewhere its only a matter of time before follett throws you out of the frying pan and into the fire. What's more, they'll abuse you out. The don't want to pay severance. They'll pay lawyers to fight you rather than pay you.

This is so true, @Prr12wa-3npu. A coworker of mine was let go after he was written up for non-existent infractions several times. He was a good guy who was making more than most people here but was worth every penny. Experienced and knowing his job inside and out. The replacement is...don't even get me started on the replacement.

Unless you're a Sr. VP tasked with cutting bottom line expenses to make up for the short fall in top line sales, you have a date on your back. You don't know it, but you do. The Sr. VP gets to choose the who and the when (it's never the Sr. VP). At some point, you will be too expensive.

The best time to leave is now.
