I have a contact at home office that has given me the following information: The final phase of the layoffs will be rolled out in Jan but not go into effect until after Feb. Membership manager and lead will officially go away. A new grocery manager position will be posted. Jewelry lead, backroom lead, receiving leads will all be eliminated. Claims will be the only full-time position in the backroom left on day shift other than part time only. PTC will also be eliminated, drug test going away, background checks are done thru email, each mgr will be responsible for hiring and training their own associates and managing their time adjustments, schedules, exceptions etc.. APMs will take on new roles with a name change of experience protection still being debated. Merch ops positions eliminated in lower tier clubs.

Accepting severance does not mean you can't apply for unemployment.
Maybe the big wigs should take a pay cut when Roz was the CEO she was making over 2mikkion. A year .... that's a ton of associates wages I get john and gizel are the top dogs but come on lost of people invested there time and efforts into the. Club just to get told they don't need u any more
Guess it's time to apply to Costco
Does anybody know if they are giving out severance pay?
Yeah our Accounting Lead/everyone found out today that their position will be eliminated by December 1st in Dallas. Will have two PT Accounting associates and the counting machine.
Also, Overnight are going to be split into two stocking shifts 2pm-10pm and 4am-12pm or something similar. Night Managers coming to days. Was told this last week. So if I'm really looking at this what will the need for a night manager on days be? There are already general merchandise managers and if they do hire a grocery manager then what? If a night managers shift is moved to days can't they file unemployment based on a restructure? As a night manager I plan my life around this and have nobody else to pick up kids and take them to and from their functions. My fault for investing long term in a company that doesn't give a crap about me.
Member champion position should be eliminated. That position is useless and non beneficial any more to the club.

And they wonder why we get so many member complaints. They're eliminating jobs, cutting hours.. All to save a buck, but yet it's "all about the member"
Will there still be a membership coordinator or membership champion?
So who will run the dock? Claims and the part timer? Will the dock supervisor also be eliminated??
Does anyone know if taking severance eliminates applying for unemployment? I remember something about a 6 month wait being part of the severance agreement a couple yrs ago.
Back room lead was an error was supposed to say receiving clerk/ back office position. Again claims will be only one to stay.
What is a backroom lead?
