Not three weeks ago I was convinced that positive results would mean fewer layoffs and less workplace stress altogether. Boy, was I wrong. Of course they would think that positive quarter results were predicated by layoffs, and would want more of them. Following months will be a nightmare, as we wait to see who will be cut and who is safe. I wish I did not check the news last night, at least I'd have gotten one more night of proper sleep. Good luck all!

"How are they even going to axe the people in Houston?"
It could actually be worse. Oracle riffed people in Houston during the hurricane.
Who would buy HPE? Oracle?
Can Solaris run on Superdome?
When was the ladt good results quarter? Sinking ship for all of FY 2017.
Yep. The last thing Meg will do is sell what's left of the legacy and then take her golden parachute. Worst company I ever worked for.
How are they even going to axe the people in Houston? Last I heard the offices had not reopened since the flooding. Pretty freaking uncivilized if you ask me.
Manager: Dont bother coming back to the office
Employee: So its still in remediation?
Manager: No just dont come back at all, you are fired
Employee: Can I at least clean out my cube and lab space
Manager: Sorry, no. Campus is flooded
My sincere sympathies for anyone targeted. Look around though there is plenty of opportunity out there. I discovered this when I left on my own accord a few months ago.
Sorry to hear the news ... again ... and again ....and again. Under 50 leave, life is short. Over 50, stick it out, maybe the severance and unemployment will give you some time, assuming you need to work. Good Luck to All! BTW, to the last poster, that's my line.
The best layoff would be that bozo at the top.
When I read the article, it stated 10% of the workforce and went on to say HPE currently has about 50k employees. Staggaring figure considering not so many years ago, they were in excess of 300k. My lil ol pinion.....HPE is up for sale. They've not announced it, but bet'cha that's where it's going.
