Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

100% bonus

Expecting 85% but manager told me today it was 100%.

Is that any protection?

Cisco used to say that they only cut bonus and they don't do layoffs. Now they do layoffs and cut bonus. Bonus is part of your pay. Otherwise the pay in Cisco is way below the market average. Of course, this is the compensation for regular worker bees. VP, SVP, Sr Director, and Director are not included. You can do the math. With 100% bonus, you still receive a big pay cut from the last year. Isn't it obvious to you that something is wrong with a workplace that has Engineering VP reporting to an SVP, then to another SVP, then to another SVP, then to an EVP, and all these managers, directives, VP, SVP are all from the same geographical region that forms an exclusive group.

I got <1 twice out of 10 bonuses and never was on PIP.

other guys under the same L1 also had IPFs greater than 1

I have never heard anyone getting a IPF of < 1 (except those in PIPs).

My IPF was always more than 1.4, and I know that other guys under the same L1 also had IPFs greater than 1. So yes - typically managers have enough budget to give everyone IPF above 1.

Didn't receive any notification about my year-end bonus today. Does it mean my IPF=0? Or is it a sign to be LRed soon?

Last year I got like 150% and a promotion, but they also let 2 people go on my team (which actually meant less work for me since I was stuck fixing their problems most of the time, thank god they are gone) so I probably got a piece of their bonus as well.

Don't tell anyone, keep it to yourself, but it is usually a good sign. Look around your department and think of the people who stink at their jobs, then realize you probably got a piece of their pie.

Manager's have a lot of cash. If one person gets more, someone else gets less. So if you got 100% best not boast to your colleagues. Some will have got less to pay for you.

That means you are getting 100% of the 85% the company approved. And no, it is no protection from the LR.

and also - - is the bonus budget allocated per director? per 2nd line?

it means your IPF is at least 1.2

Can managers here confirm: The bonus budget allows you to give IPF>1 to some individuals without forcing you to give IPF<1 to others. How true is that statement for 2017? for 2016?
