Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

nike- its been like this a for a long time....

I left swoosh 15 years ago after more than 15 years there. All the comments regarding the arrogance, politics, waste and back stabbing has been there since the company hit 1B- nothing new and nothing that unique in the corporate world. Anyone shocked by the current state and actions has had their head someplace other than on their shoulders. I have been elsewhere these past 15 years and it has been as awesome- just as my 15 years were at the swoosh. I just have not had to worry about getting stabbed in the back. I have not had to watch people grabbing onto success as the originators of it. I have not had to watch the a-- kissing, which has driven career success in beaverton and have not had to watch managers order $350 wine bottles simply because they can. I learned a lot at NIKE, enough to know that my long term happiness and success was not going to be fulfilled in that environment- so I took control of my career, before someone else did. i can tell my kids, proudly why i chose to go elsewhere. good luck to you all. those who were ousted and those who are still there.

Good luck indeed.

Place started to decline when Thirst Thursday went away...it became. work work work work.

no more beer mile. no more work life balance.

it's crazy. but there's a mile long for people to try and work here.

100% agree, left 5 years ago after 11 years at Nike. First best decision I made was to join Nike because I learned a lot there, second best decision I made was to leave Nike. Good luck to all who is out and still in there!
