Long Beach has begun to layoff tons of employees. They just gutted the whole fax-mail team from the Quality dept. including the supervisors ect. They were blindsided yesterday when higher ups came in and basically let the whole department go. Also heard other departments were getting cuts and some demoted and salary cuts. All bad down here.

From what I understand the Quality team is being centralized to corporate and will be run by region. There are lots of health plans that do it this way. So even if there are very few people left in the actual health plan in the quality department, most of the work will be done by MHI with people specialized per region, rather than for a single state plan.
As far as I've seen / heard the only people who remained in the HEDIS team were those who did a lot of brown nosing as there were plenty of people who were let go that could of done that job better and did do it better. But only time will tell.. as i hear there may be more layoffs and a-- kissing can only get you so far.
Wow, their letting 7/10 go in the quality HEDIS dept? Good luck OH in getting it together before you have to submit for NCQA accreditation in what? About 6-7 weeks?
I was part if the QUALITY-HEDIS team at MHO and was one of the 7 of 10 thats let go.
