Behavioral health and hcm ss

Since there are no behavioral health programs and the HCM SS don't do counseling, but they're all licensed, is there any talk that anyone has heard about how the HCM SS role is going to change to meet the needs of the member? There are so many psych issues and the HCM SS can really do nothing, it would be great if they could do psych care management for those members and take it off of us

Non-licensed associates will remain. It was also stated very recently they have no plans to eliminate.

I believe the general direction is moving toward combining with HCM's to do all the care management under one big umbrella. (Big as in a wide range of member needs/LOI's.) Non-licensed staff I believe will be eliminated. There is going to be increased focus on in-home, or perhaps even solely in-home visits, at least that's what it appears. Someone has the master plan and we are seeing it revealed piece by piece if you pay attention. They wont just come out with the plan, it is being changed gradually like we are not supposed to figure it out???

MAP really doesn't do enough for those members who need more than 3 counseling sessions

God bless the behavioral health members but they are so time consuming and if you do not have any of that background it can make for an uncomfortable situation. Member assistance program is our best option sometimes.
