Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

There seems to be no planning and management is this stupid company

They had big poster on San jose office titled "We are Hiring" . I joined the company three months ago, gave hackerrank test, onsite interview, had worst time in the team, senior didnt want to help. And manager expected to solve complex OS problem within first week.

And after three months they started laying off, and i was i guess the first person, that they let go. The reason being "We no longer need this position in the team", i was like i just joined three months back, how cant you predict the visibility of role in three months.

I am on H1b visa, i emailed my manager asking her to push HR, so that they can keep me on payroll for like 1-2 months that way i will get like 3-4 months extension, with holiday season approaching, i need this time to get new job. This is what she replied "Dont contact me; contact HR people for your questions".

HR replied after 4 days saying that they cant keep me on payroll. When i joined they made all false promises, this is employee oriented comapny blah blah.....but when the time came they showed the real color.

Two years at the company and let go with no notice and no severance.

From what I heard, true or not, I can't validate. If you have been with F5 for 5 years or more, you get 6 months pay + 1 month paid benefits. If less than 5 years, you get one more for each year + 1 month paid benefits. In addition to a direct report manager's discretion.

happened to me being 15 months at f5 but was still the youngest member of the team that had folks celebrating 7, 8, 10 yrs being here. My manager expected me to start handling customers (being in sales) just the way my peers did. Got HR call to notify about my exit and manager did not respond to any of my texts and calls.

Worst experience with no compensation or notice period. Never expected this from such a reputed company.
