You do know that Team Lead role were supposed to help with the development of the team lead and not about them doing other work. They got a reduced workload and their experience was recognized by HR if they applied for a coach role.

It is my understanding that there are 3 CHE teams left and 2 of the 3 teams have a team lead.
I just learned the CHEs have 1. They have like 3 or 4 teams but only one team has a lead. If other teams get by without, what's the point? Obviously not a necessity. Someone else said the HCMs are getting them. Makes a little more sense because of all the micromanaging done of HCMs.
Are team leads still a thing? Does anyone still have one?
Yes. Team leads were given more money in 2016.
Our not so smart coach announced during our team meeting a while back that he wanted to congratulate so and so for all the hard work and that it was coming with some form of monetary incentive!!! We were all in awe to say the least. He kept on going and going saying how amazing this particular person was and how hard she worked... because it seemed the rest of us "did not"!!!! So yes, he applauded his brow noser bff big time during our meeting.
Team leads are pointless
Yup, I agree, no need for team leads. Personally I'm tired of hearing "I'm the team lead for this team". We have one coach, do we really need someone who thinks they are on the same level as the coach, but clearly is not? Why do some coaches get leads while others dont? I am all for empowering associates and giving them a chance to lead, but some use it as a power trip and pout when not respected. Plus it takes away all opportunities for others on the team. Do the leads get paid extra? Just curious.
Personally I feel no need for them
We had a team lead but her only job seemed to be to scold at us in chat if we weren't "being positive." Then she would send us all a quote about being positive in an inspirational quote team email.
She was impacted so I'm not sure how the whole positivity thing really worked for her.
We had a team lead on the team I was on before I was impacted during the 2nd round. The team lead took on lots of special projects, taking all opportunities away from the rest of us. To me it seemed like a wasted position with no real authority, though the team lead thought the opposite. The team had zero respect because it was a constant power trip. Not sure if the position still exists. I would imagine it was dissolved in the most recent wave. Seems silly that only 1 of 6 teams had one when all other teams managed without.
Yes, Humana does micromanage.
The listening started last year as part of the quality reviews, and honestly, in other places of work, you are supervised, observed, etc....this is just how Humana does it.
I have never worked somewhere with such a small supervisor to associate ratio before. There is one coach to max 17-ish (not sure of max number because our team is always smaller than that) employees on the hccp side. Then they assign leads or point persons. Then we also have a team listening to calls, as well as other leaders listening to our calls. All I addition to MPS, our weekly report card.
Micromanagement.
The CHEs have a team lead. Seems like a waste of money. Definitely not a necessity to have another person who thinks they are a coach.
I was a point person and I was impacted.
Us too, poster below. We had two "point people" on our hccp team but they were let go over the last two rounds. I'm sure nobody else really wants the extra responsibility at this point, if it means you are just going to get shown the door anyway.
All of our team leads were laid off.
