Virtual Utility - Virtual Insanity

EGD was accused by the OEB many years ago of trying to be a "virtual utility" and it seems like hey are still trying. Maybe taking over Union Gas will give them some sort of leverage to get what they want. Imagine the only employees being CH , JS and the VPs, everyone else below them gets let go or ends up working for an outsource company. Letting all your employees go is a good way to get your injury numbers down. How can you have injuries if you have virtually no employees? Then you can brag about how you are the safest in the industry!

There is zero chance that EGD will take over Union Gas. The Union Gas brand is much stronger than EGD and has survived many takeovers. My understanding is that Union Gas will be the Ontario Gas utility with a reduced presence in Toronto.
