Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Nov. 15th - Massive chopping day!!!

Today is the last business day in Q1. I have heard from reliable rumors that on or before the earnings release day (Nov 15), many will be let go. There has been several meetings by higher ups management regarding the next chopping block.

The 1,100 head cut which was previously announced a while back has been completed. The new batch or LR will be done in slightly bigger numbers.

Layoffs for 2017 ended this week. There is no need to scare people, San Jose already looks like an episode of the Walking Dead.

Don't get too comfy. More layoffs coming. Rumor is they were delayed as not to interfere with Google announcement.

It has been clearly called out that this LR will roll through different teams and theaters until 11/23.

@PXAAyOE-1mgp I couldn't agree with you any stronger. It's all about some dude named Bob looking at an Excel sheet thinking, how do I make myself look like a hero, and crunch these numbers down a bit. Now Bob could be Rob or Chris or Mike, but who cares, as long as he goes to his boss and says, look Steve, I did it. This of course, paired with total disregard to the customer or the lack of commitment, direction or strategy with the continuous turbulence that it reflects on Cisco. But Bob can do it. He doesn't have to meet any customers. He just walks around pretending to be a very intelligent VP. But we all know he isn't. Don't be like Bob.

@PXAAyOE-bsc: Wrong. Last year it was a bloody Nov. for some groups. They thought they were done in August (first cut) but got finished off in Nov.

Go ahead and yell "rumour" all you want and assume nothing could happen near USA holiday. Well, times have changed. It happened last year.

@PXAAyOE-bsc is beyond wrong - just 3 years ago they laid off people between Halloween and US Thanksgiving.

Bloody techies, writing all the things that make money for Cisco and then looking smug about it.

Nothing like watching spoiled rotten, entitled techies discover they're not special, in the form of a pink slip.

Of course, their ego will tell them they'll have a better job immediately, but that's because their head has been buried deep up their A$$ for years and thus they have no clue this is going on everywhere, not just Cisco.

Maybe spend some time reading "Latest Posts" for proof, where you will discover that the other large tech companies don't want you either, cause they're beheading techies as well.

I highly doubt this. Although Cisco is a rather sleazy company, they have never implemented a layoff before the holidays.
