Previous poster, as part of your severance agreement you are given the option of continuing the insurance you currently have or having coverage end on your last day of work. If you choose to continue coverage, you will pay the same rate you are paying now and be covered through your entire severance period.

If we continue with insurance through severance period is it the same rate we're currently paying or is it Cobra that is offered through severance period?

I was offered cobra- I’m single and in Ohio, price was 795 a month just for medical. It’s insane

wife got laid off last year, we ended up paying the #gold #cobra price - it was very expensive, cannot recall the amount but it was 1K+ for the three of us (wife/me/kid)

We can opt to keep paying through our severance. After which it's COBRA insurance or through the exchanges.
