Official word on SSR is workforce adjustment, which won't happen till orange contract is bargained. CWA wants wording that prevents stores from closing which at&t refuses to allow.
So who knows, they might push phase 3 sooner and we are looking at after jan (march) till we see SSR be reduced.
The union was a complete waste of money for me as an RSC and only impeded me as an ASM/RSM with the company. No wonder things are headed the way of Authorized Retail. Thanks CWA you win. lol
SSRs aren’t going to be surplused for now but headcount will be reduced and there may be some force balancing (force SSRs to move stores). That doesn’t mean there won’t be surpluses next year but we will cross that bridge when we get to it.
It all comes down to how profitable the store is and how much TV they sell. If a store isn’t selling TV things aren’t going to look good for them.
CWA was not paying attention. As soon as the South signed their contract AT&T moved to elimate company owned retail. The damage is done. The Authorized Retail model is here to stay. Only chance to protect jobs is to get Spring Wireless unionized. Sad but true.

If there is 5 in the area and only 1 store is going to have one, whoever has the most seniority stays.
So if North Alabama has 3 slots, what are they going to do with those slots? Move people into them or post them? What is customary here?

Funny you mention it. ARSMs are on the chopping block. North Alabama has 3 ARSM slots that "need to be filled" but won't be. They are looking for a reduction nationwide. I can't remember the exact number from my source (ARSM in my territory). Future is looking like sole of your close to retirement employees will be getting out on severance (or at least it is assumed). It even seems like the T wants to push out CWA and be done with Unions. Thus making surplus easier. Doubt very seriously if Black gets a new contract as Orange is still struggling.
