Cisco Announces Job Cuts

The latest layoffs, which include senior engineers and numerous senior-level positions, follow five years of cost-cutting at Cisco and come amid a shift away from hardware to software and services.

The layoffs were announced about a month after the company reported its fourth-quarter and full-year results, which showed declining trends across all of its major business units. What’s even worse is that management stated these declines could continue.

I was impacted on Oct 10th and I am a remote worker. I spoke to several managers who didn't know about a limited restructuring. I have a feeling many more will feel the impact before Q1 earnings report.

It's not old news. I know of at least one layoff that was outside of San Jose.
