Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

Joseph Zubretsky is the new CEO. Anyone know anything about him?

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Molina’s Board of Directors has named Joseph M. Zubretsky as our new president and chief executive officer, effective November 6, 2017. The Board is thrilled that Joe has agreed to lead the Company and to carry forward its mission, especially at this pivotal time as we continue to undergo our transformation under Project Nickel.

Joe Zubretsky has a very accomplished background, with more than 35 years of experience in the health care and insurance industries. Most recently, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hanover Insurance Group. Prior to Hanover, he served almost nine years at Aetna, Inc., one of the nation’s largest healthcare benefits and insurance providers, where he most recently was Chief Executive Officer of Healthagen Holdings, a group of healthcare services and information technology companies. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2014, he served as Senior Executive Vice President leading Aetna’s National Businesses, a $10 billion business providing health solutions to multi-national companies, and from 2007 to 2013 served as Aetna’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Aetna in 2007, Joe served in a variety of senior management roles in the healthcare and financial services sector. He began his career with the accounting firm then known as Coopers & Lybrand, rising to partnership in its national insurance industry group. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Hartford.

Next month I will conclude my assignment as Interim President and CEO and return to my position as full time Chief Financial Officer of the Company. It has been my distinct honor and privilege to serve in this role for the last five months, and I look forward to continue working with you as Molina’s CFO. Molina Healthcare is an incredible company filled with dedicated employees — I have learned so much from all of you, and I cannot wait to see what our Company’s future holds. Thank you so much for your support and dedication as we have confronted head on the difficult business challenges placed before us. You all should be immensely proud of your efforts.

Once Joe Zubretsky begins work next month, please join me in extending to him a warm welcome to Molina. With his leadership and vision, and your continued dedication to our Company’s mission, I have no doubt that the best days of Molina Healthcare lie ahead.

I rely in Molina for my healthcare. This whole system is a joke and this guy is an ignorant bstard. I have to fight tooth and nail to get them to approve anything INCLUDING THERAPY THAT WILL SAVE MY MENTAL HEALTH. I am a severe su----e risk and these horrible, horrible individuals could give a FCK if I die as long I don't clog the system. I AM A HUMAN PERSON AND I DESERVE TO LIVE. I DESERVE HEALTHCARE. I DON'T WANT TO DIE.

A finance guy. This is a cost cutting play.

If they wanted to grow, we'd have someone from the healthcare field.

There will be quite a bit of agony going forward.

I am not sure if I want to stick around for all the drama. Anyhow, I kind of have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time on layoff.com

Some people were talking about his compensation, so here's some additional information.

From Salary.com (http://www1.salary.com/Joseph-M-Zubretsky-Salary-Bonus-Stock-Options-for-HANOVER-INSURANCE-GROUP-INC.html).

His previous total comp was about 7.6 million.

From Fox Business:

"Under the terms of the contract, Mr. Zubretsky would be paid a $4 million signing bonus and $1.3 million in base salary. He won’t be eligible for a performance bonus this year."

Well, someone has to pay for his penthouse. Poor thing, he will have no performance bonus this year.

He and his wife live on Park Ave. in New York City in a 3,600,000. 00 dollar....14,000 sq foot penthouse they bought 10 years ago. He has no clinical education.....only finacial....it's all about the money. If he was so good why is he leaving The Hanover?

Molina must really be paying him well....on the backs of all the dedicated hard working staff that were layed off......He has some really big shoes to fill... even comming close to Dr. Molina....good luck with that Joe Z...but they maybe they will be clown shoes like all the other lame so called leadership left.

It's funny how he says "dedicated employees", yeah, pretending and forcing themselves to be because they're afraid to be laid off next.

He is coming from The Hanover Insurance Company, where he has been a CEO for just about a year.
