Schlumberger is a horrible company to work for. There is no respect for people and merit is the last thing that matters.
Mostly lies. All that was in the past. It’s a company in decline. Too high of debt from horrible decisions. The genie is out if the bottle and competition is moving in.
I have worked for this company for 20 years in Belfast and they have just came and closed it today Belfast is one of its best if not thee best skill based machining shops that schlumberger has in the world which has been here for over 60 years so we must have been doing somthing right in N.Ireland we have sorry had a fantastic tem of people here with a very high skill level which SLB will never get back 220 of us will be kicked into touch without a thought they dont care the big wigs will keep getting richer at the exspense of the people who actually make this company tick and by the way im just a normal cnc operator our team in Belfast will go with our heads held high. Shame on you Slb
If you are a new hire and think Schlumberger is a great company to work for, trust me, you'll get over it soon enough.
Someone needs to record a parody of Jeff Daniels on why it’s isnt the best company anymore!

Wooop wooop ! I am American and truly love working with such a wide range of people from different nationalities as it truly inspires me to learn from different cultures. The more interesting and intelligent people tend to come from the non western thinking countries. There is no other company in the world with this kind of diversity and long may it last and let’s have a non westerner as CEO!!!
I have worked for slb for 20 years, I started my career as HR assistant then moved up as recruiter and hr manager and area hr manager and finally I left slb about a year ago.
When I was in training for recruiter position, basic psychology of good employees for field or office was 100% obedience!!! It was a horrible experience, i was slave and hungry Hunter!!! Qualifications wasn't much important at all.
If you look at current survivors in slb, most of them are from countries with civil war or some sort of basic human rights struggle.
I am having my own business now and slb employees are not a type the industry needs.
When Scumberger aquired Smith they were in shock at what real companies pay their employees. Scumbooger is dying, anyone who travels through North America can see everyone working except the mindless drones of Scumburglar. The only place they remain relevant is third world countries where smelly nigs fight for food and burn their neighbors for stealing a loaf of bread.
Slb is just an ok company same goes for other oil field svc companies.
Slb ok for you if you accepted to be a svc provider to other companies and can't go beyond that.
Overall I got offer to come back to slb but I refused it.
If you work on the shop floor then it is just a sweat shop with no promotion and looked down with contempt by what passes by for management in that crazy company.
All items on this list used to be true... until about 5 years ago.
An "awesome" company to work for is a bit much. An okay company to work for that looks good on a resume after you are laid off is more of a reality.
This is very true and why it’s a world class company to work. If you hit laid off then accept it and move on but don’t crtiticise and awesome company
The more su-- the higher you go
