My whole team, gone including our manager. Heard cuts to the support team as well. There will be no one left with technical expertise to implement the product.

Be nice, Ash.
The interactions I had with the AppLayer SE's was nothing but fantastic. I am sure Consulting Services can implement it, but often customers want to have a 30 min conversation about the installation, the product or the capabilities. The SEs did a great job at that.
I have a pretty good idea of who you are. Stay classy G
Wow. Disgruntled much? Jealous? I mean trashing a whole team and for what? Unfortunately the facts speak for themselves and the Unidesk team was used extensively by CCS and Sales. Keep drinking hat kool-aid though it'll help in the coming months.
Disgruntled ex-Unidesk employees that didn't know as much as they think they did, there to support weak project leads. Most of them can't even help in Cloud deployments. More seasoned consultants with a home lab and most architects are up to speed.
You say Consulting has the expertise but guess who they brought in for those CCS engagements?
I have to say that the Citrix representation sensitivity level is unparalleled. I sincerely wish the people who were laid off that cared deeply about their job and their product are better off somewhere else.
"No idea" - except I'm a consultant and I've implemented it from scratch in three different environments, two with PVS and one with Azure MCS. We needed occasional help from the App Layering SMEs from Unidesk but for the most part figured it out. I think I got a bit of help from an SE once but it was information I had already gotten from Google. SE's are an integral part of the sales process but their expertise to get things done on the ground was far from critical.
Thought app layering was one of the core products, makes no sense
Consulting has no idea how to implement it. The Unidesk SEs were key in implementations. It has been a PVS/MCS interrupter (that we did not need) because it is really IMAGE management vs. Application Layering.
Any layoffs in consulting?
Consulting has enough expertise to implement App Layering. It's not rocket science. We do need devs to stay up to speed on Server 2016, Office, and Azure (biggest current and upcoming use cases).
To complete the sentence...Welcome to being acquired by Citrix, and then having everyone who sponsored your acquisition leave the company...
SE is that sales engineer?
Welcome to being acquired by CTXS...
