To be quite honest, I STILL have PTSD, and have been gone for years. That place is TOXIC. As a nursing professional, I had never felt more diminutive and micro-managed as I did working for Humana. Sad, because I was truly excited when I started. Only took 1.5 years, but good Lord, 1.5 years of my life that I will pay for physically for a very long time. I pray for those I left behind, and cheer on those who have been lucky enough to get out.

It seems all healthcare has been doing more with less for a few years, humana tightened its belt very quickly

To the person who criticized another poster for "taking the check," you are either a manager/administrator or a troll. If you truly were aware of the situation you would not have said this. I have worked for a ton of companies in 30 years (not all even healthcare), and the atmosphere is extremely toxic here and is not like any other I've experienced. I came to Humana many years ago and it was a completely different company. I loved to come to work each day, talking to members, interacting with the team, sitting on workgroups, taking extra friendly touch calls...benefits were fantastic and the PTO, vacation and retirement benefits were generous. The atmosphere completely changed after the merger didn't go through. Threats are all over HAH, it doesn't matter what team you are on or what the role is, we are all being bullied. It would be unbearable to have this done to our faces...but maybe that's why they are doing it-because we are virtual. I dread coming to work each day and being questioned why my productivity isn't as much as another team member who works well over 8 hours a day and justifying every second of my 10 hour-paid-out-as-eight-hour work day. I am looking for work elsewhere too, but until I find something, I am happy to take the check, because I put up with twice as much as what I am paid for! Did anyone get the Well being survey email? There isn't anywhere in the survey that you can provide a reason why your mental or physical health is poor. They want you to pick from the choices, like "don't know how to eat healthy" or "don't have support." They need a category to answer questions about why we are so stressed as "because of my coach."

@P6Tj7cE-1fjw - we have been hearing that same negative push on our team. In recent weeks we have also been "motivated" by this rhetoric of "had a bad week or a rough day? they are watching, you need to worry."

It is brutal when you have been a hard worker since as long as you can remember, to be in an environment where you are reminded of your job insecurity on a weekly basis. Who deserves that? It has revved up significantly in recent weeks and has motivated me to spend more of my personal time on my job hunt. I feel like that is the intention.

"Humana is not a normal work environment now..... the micromanagement and threats are unbelievable."

I could not agree more. Never once, working for previous employers, has threat of termination been used as a motivational tool for entire teams. This is toxic. Our team is being told we need to increase this metric or that metric, depends on what the flavor of the week is, or we will be "looked at," we "won't be safe." I've never experienced morale like this.

As someone who is nearing retirement and has worked for most of their life except for a few years off raising children Humana is not a normal work environment now..... the micromanagement and threats are unbelievable no one should be criticized for criticizing Humana...it is not a normal work environment at all anymore. And yes, people can criticize and still work due to needing to pay bills and not having another job lined up. If I had a trust fund....welll then I would quit and I'm sure many others would also if in a position that they really didn't need a paycheck.

Below poster, Humana changed dramatically over the past cpl of years in term of work environment. Many are still "taking the check" while looking for something else. This does not make them hypocritical, rather just people who have bills to pay and simply need to proceed with that in mind. I don't know that other poster's situation, but neither do you.

Learn a lesson from the past- even when they are "transparent" that one is approaching- realize it is for their benefit and not yours- they will let you stew in your own anxiety for weeks and micromanage you while you are doing so. There will be more layoffs as it is more than obvious that they offer little real benefits that are competitive with other carriers and this pseudo benefit forced on some poor individuals has no real value and no evidence of costs savings to support its they over hired for this in expectation of a merger that never transpired. They are slowly trying to swallow pride- it's harder for real true arrogant douchebags to swallow pride and realize they put the cart before the horse and made horrible business decisions that were really quite simplistic. Humana is one of the most portly run organizations that I have had to deal with as both an employee and a consumer. When I call for assistance with my own benefits it seems that as soon as I am able to get past their automated nightmare- I am directly connected to the most idiotic person they could make available- I hope a lot of people really examine plans this enrollment term- Humana is worthless

I have a few most are just do sick of wondering "will there be another round?" every 3 months, and then subsequently "when will the next round be?"

This year has been exhausting.
