So what has been your experience being laid off from Oracle and finding a job of equal pay and benefits? On average how long does it take to find ? Thanks for any information.

it really depends on person, not company brand.
if you are good enough, you can always find a decent place to stay,
however, if you are fooling around without gaining any studies
(even lawyers/doctors needs to study all the way through their career),
neh, with o's performance review bar, easy lifestyle, neh,
you aren't going anywhere.
"Interviewed with Apple for an opening in their Silicon Engg team. The Apple HR/Recruiter (during the interview) told me that Oracle is looked upon as a Country Club. Country Club !!"
Then what is Apple, sweatshop? :-)
AWS and Google have hired many ex-Oracle people very recently.
He's got his groupies. "Tell us about Lawnmower Larry again! That never gets old!"

I'm not sure anyone really cares or knows what bmc says. He's largely irrelevant and insignificant outside the solaris crowd. Just one of the biggest jerks and most inflated egos in ALL of tech. Thank god I don't have to hear of that miserable person any more.
I left a while back before all this more recent nonsense started. I'm now one of the top internet companies. You will be valued of course, but like any job if you were there for a long time and let your skills may have stagnated and you may want to spend some time on lynda or youtube updating skills which are valuable to the new roles you would like to seek. I have full confidence you are gonna get what you want. Keep your chin high and good luck, friend.
Do other IT companies value Oracle workers?
No, they don't. It doesn't help that bmc described us as Nazis and that all the good staff already left. Pick a hot new open source project and contribute to that, then in the interview talk about that instead of Oracle. Talk about Sun. Lots of ex-Sun out there working in places you wouldn't expect.
Pay is much better once you can get a job.
