I am dreading going in to work today. I don't think I will be able get my high blood pressure down until this week is over - and that'ss if I don't get laid off. I remember a time when working at Nike was fun, I was looking forward to going to work. It's so sad to see how much things have changed here... Good luck everybody, I hope we all still have our jobs by the end of the day!

So true.
Is it a blip? Just ask any trader on their position on NKE over the last 2 years. Can anyone in the C-Suite hear the word 'strategic drift'? Clearly not. Its sad to see a great brand fall over itself and lose touch with its consumer, their wants and needs. For years Nike has been rightly criticized over its cross category efficiencies, its technologies that its consumer doesn't understand and its 'system of dress' that just doesn't match consumer preferences. The athleisure bubble is in retraction which has artificially inflated SKU orders that have been sold to Wall Street as organic growth. Raising this bar too high shadows growth from Nike and creates unnecessary shareholder pressure. Alternatively blame it on wholesale numbers all you want, market share is quickly going to competitors that 5 years ago couldn't shine a light on Nike. Sadly this is a company chasing its own tail and needs a bigger shift in strategy than the one we are seeing from management. Good luck!
What does the future hold for Nike? Is the current problems a blip? Or something more serious. Interested in hearing about your views and experiences.

today is NDE in WL and DS. What team is tomorrow? how did you check? from conf room booking?
We are scheduled to go tomorrow - it'll be a rough night for me and my crew. We'll see what happens.
I am glad we have this site to share thoughts and frustrations -thank you all for chiming in.
All the best and good luck!!!
OP consider yourself lucky because for some of us working at Nike was never fun. Lies, harassment, intimidation, llegal working conditions, inequality. Just because the pig put on lipstick doesn't change the sweat shop lord reality. Most never saw Nike's seedy underbelly as you were too busy swilling free beer during thirst Thursday's while fawning over this month's favorite visiting millionaire man boy that had a special talent for playing with balls.
To OP - if you do get through today, you may wish you didn't over the course of the next 6-12 months. As stated on other threads, the culture that once was the lifeblood of the brand has been hijacked by self-interest careerists. Unfortunately, with a few exceptions, there are few from the old guard left. In the earliest days of Nike, the people described it as a mission, not a job - today, the priority among most is personal advancement. Hopefully Nike can find its way again.
Probably not much consolation right now, but I left on my own accord a few months ago because I couldn't take it anymore. Everything others have said - it was frustrating and not fun or rewarding anymore. I haven't been this happy in years!
As always better to have a plan B at all times. That way you're not too dependent on having a job at Nike.
There is wonderful life after Nike.
I can feel the same way. But we're tomorrow. Gotta have insomnia tonight. Nike used to be a happy place to work. Now?? Hope we're all safe!
right there with you, buddy...
