I was laid off and have a hard time believing my coach had nothing to do with it... I don't think it was personal I'm just being real here. They are our managers ... I'm not the top performer as far as metrics go but my call quality is 98%. It's hard to tell from one week to the next what Humana wants .. Quality or Quantity. Doesn't matter at this point I'm on to better things. Being stuck to a phone and desk is not healthy ... At least not for me. My door opened and I'm embracing it. Good luck to everyone and I hope we all find our happy places soon.

Poster who commented on the factors of age and s-x.....does being older count against you? If you're older and with Humana longer and making a higher salary, does that count against you? I know starting salaries are based on a matrix, I wonder what the matrix is for exiting.

The people on my team who were let go were always respectful, but did voice their opinions. They stood up for us all and our members and will be gone now. Good leaders should value that, especially as these folks were solid or excellent performers. What seemed to characterize then though, is the fact that they would stand up and make their thoughts known. I got the impression that they were considered an annoyance to my coach, who is a bit incompetent if I am to be honest, and a very negative, bad-cop type "leader".

I know that coaches were asked to rank their associates. Don't ask me how I know, but I do. They ranked their associates and had alot more power than they let on. Now I know that the good coaches didn't want to do that, but had no choice, but I'm sure a few of the CYA types were happy to oblige. So someone here is fudging the truth just a smidge!

I've heard of coaches so bad that if they don't like you they won't let you work even 15 minutes longer just to wrap things up or make that last call to get your "numbers". Then when asked to evaluate their associates they have a little extra ammo for the ones they don't like.

I can 100% say the coaches have zero say in who stays or who goes. We do a lot of evaluations. Hr does theirs. Factors are placed on age s-x etc and a list is created that coaches have not been privy to until the day it happens Coaches have also been impacted. We are never going to know the true formula and all the incidentals but we have whittled down to the best of the best so anyone who goes has been a Rock star Nurses I would watch and learn. If more cuts need to happen you all are the majority now

Coach who posted below, curious what information you are asked to provide on associates. In theory, it could be based on this information.

Yeah that didn't sound right. Maybe they were just misinformed.

The first respondent is lying. I'm a coach. We are asked to provide information on all our associates and we get 0 input into who is selected. Were it up to me, all my associates would still have jobs today.

Not surprising!!! Humana's culture encourages employees to shut up, not ask questions, brown nose your coach, work over time and never ever complain! Otherwise you will be in their black list. Believe me, it is happening to a few in my team!

However they decided, it was definitely not performance related. We are losing top performers.

Our team lost the ones who like to ask questions, the ones who don't brown nose. Not sure if it's just a coincidence.

I admit I had wondered about this. I'm not saying it is this way for every coach and every team, but the people on my team who were laid off were not well liked by my coach.

Your coach is asked to narrow down a lists and choose the PHCs to be laid off
