Anyone hear if we will get any bonus for year end? We got 5% in March. I haven't seen anything from the higher ups.

i am a manager here, and this year there has been good budget to pay out bonuses. I manage 1 grade-11, and 3 grade-10 and 2 grade-8 , who are probably the top performers in my team compared to the rest.
I have definitely made sure the top performers get paid more than 85% of target. Some have reached 123% of target with lowest being 105% of target.
The remaining folks on my team did get the 85% of target.
I am fotunate to be in a BU with no layoffs and inflow of cash.
@P0OknJv-2oxo - yeah the ones that can spell and put together a coherent sentence usually stay away....
I really wonder why these ex-Cisco trolls keep track of what is happening inside Cisco. You have left the company, why do you care. Enjoy your new job /Or/ Grass is always on greener on the other side so you are considering coming back? I have seen several folks returning to Cisco after trying difference companies ...
Bonus was a pretty unexpected 85% of target. I feared the 25% target that had already been paid earlier in the year would have been it but thankfully I was wrong.
Those of us employed should keep it to ourselves. Tired of these outside trolls.
All these legacy tech companies are not worth working for anymore. I just found a job at a mid size 10 year old company that is growing right now at a huge rate, solid base but moves like a startup. Large, old companies like Cisco, HP, IBM etc move at such a slow rate they are a detriment to your career more then anything else. Keep up to date with skills and new tech that has become industry standard but is still not used at Cisco.
Cisco is built on people who are in charge of any of the tech not wanting to change anything because they think that gives them job security. What it really does is make them unemployable once it all comes to an end. It's up to you to keep your skills relevant and up to date. Don't depend on the internal classes available either, by the time they are available they are out of date.
Let's be honest, it has taken almost 2 years to attempt moving to an agile environment, and still 1/2 the teams can't figure it out. That is career death.
Full Disclosure: I'm no longer at Cisco but enjoyed my time there. 10 years before I got laid off. Leaving has been a great financial and career move.
WRT the bonus; I won't take another (non-sales) position where the bonus is a significant part of the salary. My bonus (I was in IT) was a little over 20% of my cash comp.
Structuring my cash payout that way was great for the company because they got to contract my salary dynamically, like I was in Sales. But I wasn't and never saw 20% increases in my salary over that decade when we were rocking. Baby steps on the up$ide. A few RSUs, tiny salary bumps and no promotion.
Should I share in the risk and downsides of the business? Sure. But give me some of that upside potential when times are good and not just a 20% potential downside and an 'FU'. If you want to treat me like a commodity salesperson then I want some of that gravy when we are doing well.
As someone recently said here...Tech (and certainly IT) has become a blue-collar gig. Coal Miners of the 21st Century.
Ugh, we got 25% earlier this year. If you lost your job at Cisco due to a layoff a year or so ago, why continue to post here? Is it because you still can't over it? It's a job, not a career.
interesting, so i guess i just really don't know how to do that.. why don't you tell me what this process is so i can go do it
Troll, every employee knows how to get status on bonus. Try again.
