For the gdc site, I can say that in the software development/engineering area it s---s as much as much as any other Intel site. Mostly management fault, Intel is full of useless managers and VPs that live on the profit of other more productive business units

Nice people, respectful, pleasure to deal with, but technically not there, and likely never will be. Should bring those jobs back to many fewer Americans in the U.S. Perhaps leave some work there which does not require very deep technical expertise. But really sweet folks.

As someone previously mentioned, is Columbia actually closing or is it just a very likely target?

The problem with Intel is management, no amount of outsourcing can save Intel from the terrible management problem.

It isn't about the cost of labor but where you point the labor and the 🤡 has no clue

I know GDC (Guadalajara, México) has a large presence in MVE and DCG, some VPG, and other smaller orgs such as Intel Labs. Their added value to the company varies by biz group. MVE has been there for a while now..

Friendly and very hard working people. Predictable execution. They still need to work on technical leadership, but they are getting better at it.... and yes, tequila.

Just another low cost site. Needs guidance and regular follow up. Communication a big issue.

A joke... They have been ramping for 15 years and STILL can't accomplish anything without help. Not sure what they will do after Columbia closes.... That site was always coming to its rescue

GDC is intels best site. Friendly employees less backstabbing than US, tequila, great resturants, shopping, fantastic view of the stadium, nice building more attractive than most intel sites, easier to fly to than bangda-liers, US friendly time zone, tequela, hot chicks, tequila.

Just another low cost site with nothing much to show for.

Only international site with significant leadership and accomplishments is Israel and maybe Ireland.

Intel could close the rest of the low cost geos overnight and nothing much would happen. Grunt work would just get moved elsewhere.
