To correct you, that is LEGAL dept. How does shareholders benefit from HR writing a policy that is downloaded and tweaked from SHRM website?????

stop blaming hr for your own failures. Their job is to ensure that the company doesn't get sued for stuff and to enforce policies not create them.

HR is just a cost, never helpful and useless; they need to let go of 90% of the force. Google and many organizations have working HR departments that are profitable which at the end of day don't create a dent in their margin. Who to blame or point the finger????? HR IS TO BLAME for poorly managing staffing plans and poor strategic planning. Senior leaders found out when it was too late.
