Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

DWEP HES

With DWEP and GGOM, what is happening to DWEP HES? Are they laying off people again? I am sure that it is not a good work atmosphere.

So with the divestment of all the shelf assets what is left for the GGOM Covington Office to run - 5 deep water platforms? Seems like a lot of manpower savings can be had? So will this opportunity be taken?

The great brain trust involved in planning the merger of two completely redundant SBUs with no viable projects has yet to find any staffing synergy. I wouldn't be surprised if they increased HES staff.

Reductions will not be as deep as one would think as many areas of HES operated on a GGOM model. Would expect elimination of those areas that are duplicate or overlap. Unfortunately, some roles and people will remain that should otherwise be eliminated or left standing.

A great deal of overlap in HES job positions will take place. Expect alot of pain with this consolidation. I hope we keep only the best on the payroll this time around and shed everyone else. Tough times require hard decisions. No more friends and family. Managers who can't do their jobs need to go as well.

Of course. Not just an HES reduction and not limited to only DWEP personnel. That's what happens when you combine two BUs into one.
