Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel will only replace its CEO when/if financial results begin to crater. BoD doesn't understand the damage BK has done.

@gza

That's why they are running up debt to buy back stock. This buys them time, but tick tock, they're on the clock to show results.

More likely when the stock craters. The initiative will need to come from shareholders as bod wont do it. Shareholders will kick into action if stock falls. For BK the attempt would be to keep the stock level until the market crashes, if intel goes down with the market it is not company specific and they can blame the market for down draft, anything before that becomes company specific and they would be blamed. Can they do it? They surely will try with everything in their power

More facts - growth has been flat under his tenure, yet the balance sheet has turned to sh1t with huge debt to finance these boondoggles.

Intel can no longer fund dividends and stock buybacks with purely the x86 business and must resort to raising capital and going further into debt.

Operationally, Intel has been just sh1tty under BK with multiple project cancellations, late products and a very sick 10nm program.

BK shills out in force today LoL!

Fact - BK has been reckless with Intel capital in a desperate attempt to chase fads. Not only capital is wasted. Valuable opportunity costs and executive attention has been diverted to pursue reality tv and other boondoggles.

Another fact is that his actions impact the morale of the rank and file, causing brain drain to better run companies. Case in point - FP just resigned. He is the biggest public Intel supporter around and even he couldn't take it anymore.

This is the irreparable damage Ashraf is talking about.

The worthless fab monkey fad chaser has created the Kool aid drinking environment. Lol.

Ashraf's argument is sound as he sees no growth paths. If Keuffel and Esser was still in business and making a profit you might have a point. But, they are not.

That fact that Ashraf used to be an Intel fan boy is a red herring argument, not germane to the point of market share.

By that logic, Ashraf's argument is also pointless, as he makes an argument for a lack of success based on a shrinking market.

But anyway, if it were for his predictions in 2014, we'd all be holding Intel stocks now, and AMD would already be bankrupt.

Market share is not a static number. Intel makes most of their profit from PCs, a market that is shrinking. An argument for success around a shrinking market is baseless.

For example, Keuffel & Essex manufactured the last slide rule on July 11, 1976. They presented it to the Smithsonian. At that point, they held 100% market share.

want a good laugh about ashraf?

at the same time, he was writing articles about how great Intel was - at a time when BK was supposedly doing the "damage" he is now whining about.

Yep.

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/market_share.html

Intel reached the record market share under BK last year and the market share is still higher than it ever was under Otellini. Yet people are acting like Intel is in some kind of "crisis". Laughable.

LOL. @mqi is an AMD employee who has to keep telling himself that a few percent points of market share gain actually mean something. Intel is still close to the highest market share they have ever had, and people are trying to convince themselves that Intel is doing something wrong.

Ashraf Eassa is one of the dumbest people on the Internet. He probably doesn't even know what the "nm" in "10nm" means, that is how clueless he is. And he has proven in many articles that he doesn't understand what a move from one process to another actually entails, as he has many times written complete nonsense about chip production

Yes, Ashraf, the guy who has used this site as a source of information and who has proven again and again that he has no clue about chip technology thinks he is smarter than the Intel Board of Directors.
