Cisco is planning to lay off 20K outright in Aug 2017 and another 10K spread out over FY18.
That will take total headcount reduction to 30K. Cisco Is anticipating atleast 5 to 8 Billion USD in savings per year and Cisco will spend more than $1 Billion on Severance packages as one time cost. It can go up to $1.5 billion if Cisco wants to give generous Buyout packages.
Chuck wants Cisco Blue badge to be around 45K. He wants to all out to reduce the headcount and make Cisco viable business for future.
