How much is a grade 8 making - tcomp in TMG?
I left 1 yr ago, salary higher but SO and bonus not quite as good. But job quality much higher and stress level significantly lower

There are plenty of grade 9 and above who need to go! Useless!
On samba lescouilles
I have a very good case for promo for Intel G7 to G8. However, I will not pursue it since most of my G8 colleagues have been ISP/VSPed. I don't need the extra $$ as Intel tcomp for G7 (SC) have been quite good.

Yes. For example, Grade 9 Attorney is different salary range than Grade 9 Software Engineer is different salary range than Grade 9 Project Manager.
There is (or was) an HR policy that you could ask your manager to show you the salary range for your grade and the grade above you.
All managers have this matrix of salary, just ask. No reason not to share and make you envious and ambitious.

Remember EB becomes larger and larger percentage at high grades
My experience is that once you know the minimum salary for any grade, the maximum is about 1.5x. minimum.
There used to be a linear escalator for each grade like 1.2x, so if you knew grade 7 was 100k, grade 8 would be 120k, for same range penetration
