So you agree with VZ's stance on net neutrality? As currently being forced on the public by former VZ bagman Ajit Pai?

Even all the establishment tech companies disagree with this..it's hard to imagine a "white hat hacker" would be more conservative than Google and Amazon.

In all seriousness, whether you choose VZ or any other telecom company, the industry is in a race to the bottom. Given market saturation and price wars, wages and benefits going forward will be stagnant at best. This also drives the constant fear of layoffs from these companies. If you are totally convinced you want to work in the industry, I would look into Comcast if there are opportunities in your area. Others may disagree based on their direct experience with Comcast and hopefully will weigh in. But in my opinion Comcast seems to have been pretty successful at diversifying in the communications and entertainment areas. Even at that, it doesn't mean it might not be a horrible place to work, just a comment on the long term viability of the company. Again, just my opinion and I could be totally wrong. Also, check out Glassdoor for company employee reviews. There's plenty of complaining in those reviews, but assuming there's grumbling about all companies, it's worth a look for side-by-side comparisons.

Verizon does have a high school internship program, but its limited to only a few schools in a few locations. If your school isn't involved, you need to wait until you are already enrolled in college to be considered for an internship.

I hope this is a genuine post and not trolling. Understand the people utilizing this site have either recently lost their job at Verizon or feel they will soon. People in these positions are unlikely to jump at the chance to help their "replacements."

Find your internship with Verizon the same as you would any company. Check their career site, or ask your guidance counselor. For what it's worth, though, employees (in wireless, can't speak to wireline) are at least legal adults (18 years old) and have completed some college. Not many part time high schoolers running around.

Invest your time wisely, spent time is non refundable.

So yourself a favor and go to T-Mobile or Sprint. They trajectory is much more favorable than Verizon's.
