I agree there is a lot of misinformation going on in this site. I think there are a lot of people from both competition and disgruntled employees venting at the frustration of what is going on. I don't think there will be major layoffs like before but you can't help but notice a LOT of people jumping ship and maybe this is reducing the need for mass layoffs. In my area there is only 4 people left that have been with EMC before the acquisition. That number doesn't seem big until you realize that there was 12 people in those roles. Most of them are going to partners but that market is starting to get saturated. Most of the people I have talked to see the entire industry shrinking as the cloud continues to eat the IT industry. Even though it costs more, companies lead by the CIO/CTO are steadily moving their environment to AWS/Azure/Google/IBM/etc. There are some amazing people working for EMC/Dell that don't deserve the flak they get on this site. Frontline managers are scared just as much as Sales/SE/Engineers. Let's try and bring this site back to the level it used to be. If you have a solid lead on layoffs coming let everyone know. If you are mad at Dell/EMC just vent that way but don't scare people with false rumors.
