Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

Don't blame BP for what's happening with jobs right now

Cabela's may continue to cut payroll to minimize the bleeding, but BP has no authority or input until the deal is finalized. BP folks may wonder the stores and the corporate hallways, but until some money changes hands, they are just spectators. If the grim reaper shows up, he'll be a familiar face, not someone from BP. It'll be one of the same 2-faced liars that we've have known all along that will be inviting you and your co-workers to a "quick meeting".

Really well put by @OdONsrM-1suk. The empty chairs that already exists are not BP's doing. And until BP deal is finalized, everything that happens is still Cabela's doing.

Those meetings are not fun when stuff like this happens. The company is run by management e

team and they are to blame for the sale, treatment of employees and tarnishing of the formerly good reputation. TM get out of town and don't come back. take your dog pound with you and may the fleas of a thousand afghans infest your armpits. I'm sure remington will take you back in a heartbeat for what you did while you were there.

Could he part if the deal. There are a lot of companies that will purchase execs homes when relocated or the company is bought. Probably put the sign up to hide that fact.

Well if BP people are buying expensive homes in Sidney, maybe that's a good sign that they will keep a strong presence in our community.

Can someone tell me how Caberlas employees are all ready on the Bass Pro payroll and yet here at Sidney. How a worthless Executive who will benefit from the wastefull golden parachute and has already sold his mansion to someone from Bass Pro. THis was done several weeks ago long before the merge rink was even written. Looks like a lot of backdoor dealing going on.

I am so sick of the posters on this website to continue to insult the memory of D--k Cabela and those who said he was off base in saying that your treat your customer and your employees right and the rest in regard to ownership will fall into place. I think d--k Cabela also had the knowledge of what a dollar bill was in regard to spending. This bs I hear everything is done to maximize profits is the only thing which matters. Yes expand and spend without no end in site is a great policy when things are going good. However when things go the other way the big spend and expand is in big trouble. I wonder what the policy by top management would be if the executives were to get millions if the merger didn't go thru and millions if Cabela's stayed in business. SOME HOW I HAVE FEELING THE MERGER THEN WOULD NOT BE IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE STOCKHOLDERS.

To the poster wondering how much damage has been done by people who supposedly post gossip with the intent of destroying Cabelas and the town of Sidney, check out this news paper article and the facts behind it. People posting on this site are the ones that destroyed Cabelas- the sale was planned in 2015 before people started posting supposed rumors. No one knows how many jobs will stay or how many of all the Cabelas employees including corporate, retail and warehouse that will remain. To blame anonymous posters, venting, guessing, or might know what is going on for what is happening to Cabelas and Sideny is totally off base. It's the company way upper management and the desire to make money for the share holders, http://www.omaha.com/money/cabela-s-quietly-sought-sale-before-investor-push-jim-cabela/article_d0255fd7-1ccb-5851-93f5-5bcb2e3cc82c.html

Different post from the same poster saying what a great post it was. This is very common on this site. This site who knows how much damage has been done by these people who only post gossip with the intent of destroying Cabelas and the town of Sidney

When I was called into my "meeting" I must say it blew me away! I would say those people that get called into a meeting soon, will not be surprised at this point. It was devastating at the time for me. I have moved on to greener pastures. I would not wish all of that on anyone!

Exactly right. There will be major cuts to ensure the handoff will happen and it is ready for BP. This is a Tommy dream come true - contine to devastate the company
