Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Terrible place to work

HCMSS were transitioned to HCMs in March. Since then it has been constant change and BS. It's nothing but micromanaging and disrespect. Humana is a terrible company to work for. This is not true case management. This is not a company that cares for their members or their staff. What a joke. They also threaten you daily with formal coaching and Performance Improvement plans and then firing if you don't meet their metrics. They are moving their Hcm contact requirements to 7 a day per coach. HCMs are responsible for post discharges, moc sequences, all over dues, proactive reports, and the list continues to grow depending on the next email they send. Why hire licensed professionals if you won't even let them manage a case load without telling them how to breath every day. I've never worked any where, where the coaches are a joke and the COMs are just as bad. They drank the kool-aid. You are told to meet metrics any way it takes. No lunches, no breaks, no wellness time. You are pretty much expected to hook yourself up to a catheter and feeding tube and not move from your desk.

Not making up the 7. Came straight from my coaches mouth and if you're meeting their metrics everyday you are not the norm, you're an exception. I'm far from lazy and take s lot of pride in my work which I was told means nothing if you can't hit their number.

I certainly see them moving us to 7 in no time! Nothing makes sense anymore. It's all a race to see who makes the most calls, who cares if you connected with the Mbr or not or if you really made a difference in their lives! All it matters is how many surveys you completed and how quickly you documented and moved to the next one. Our Mbrs are numbers, we the employees are numbers as well! They don't care about any of us.

To those of you praising yourselves for not having difficulty meeting metrics, good for you! You are the minority! The majority of us are struggling to do so by 4:30pm, we are having to work O/T and that is not right!

To the prev poster, can we vent? If you don't like us venting then go make calls and don't visit this page!

Here we go Chicken Littles crying again...... I have no problem getting 5 contacts a day, sometimes 6. What is your problem? Are you disorganized or just lazy? And no one has said anything about going to 7 contacts, why do you make up things? Do you need attention? If you hate your job so much, just quit! I have a few former coworkers who would LOVE to have your position. Do the job or move on!

Yes and yes! You are so right! Why in the world do they have to be telling you who to call? If we are professionals with a 700+ mbr roster, we know what to do first, what is priority, what is urgent... let us do it without sending us 20 emails daily with reminders. This job has turned into a joke! No time for anything!! And yes, not even to go to the restroom!

The coaches should be making calls as well, they should have 1-2 mbrs daily so they learn the job. They have no clue as to the process or how long it takes to document. Get off our backs and grab a couple mbrs and do real work!
