Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

well, i guess this means we won't be getting a tennis courts on the west side of campus. badminton just isn't the same thing.

So we know what the problem is but what will management do about it? I suggest nothing becuz they don't know what to do. This is a classic pre-amble to a fkn disaster.

Solving problems by gotomeeting. Classic HAL solution these days.

Sounds like being up a creek without a paddle and heading towards a waterfall.

Manufacturing being outsoursed overseas. It's another desperate attempt to reduce costs at the expense of domestic employees. We see millions of dollars of components come into the plant while our own machines are idle. Simple math dictates that our time is limited.

The down hole era of oil and gas has changed and either we need to adapt with the technology to keep the talented employees that we have....,

Or, there is about to be a lot of people getting cut!

You don't have to be a rocket scientist or a college grad to get down and dirty in the oil field these days.

So the young snow flakes better get on board with the business or get the resumes ready for Walmart and McDonald's.....

Nobody cares what HAL does. They're not as important as some others.

Your troubles are over! Gregg Abbot't's Facebook page says Halliburton is hiring 100 people a month now.

Wait a second . If you do not have work then focus on sales and business development. Halliburtons problem is not about daycare, the gym , and the cafeteria. Get real , Halliburtons problems stem from the fact that you have way too many good ole boy salesmen. Way too many buddies and friends your protecting.

Go to any industry in the world including the oil and gas service industry and state that you do not have work. Everyone is and will look at Sales and BDM as the root cause of the problem.

They will tell you what they think that you want to hear.... That is classic " hold on, don't worry, we have plenty of orders".

Meanwhile, the employees take the bait and stay, they don't look for a new job.

And then, Bam!!!! Oil price drops and layoffs begin. Halliburton already laid off approximately 35,000 employees in the past three years. They can lay off another 5,000 to 10,000 more and not miss a lick.

We simply do not have any work...... Period!!!!

Our management is STUPID!

They are wasting all this money on all these damn facilities and infrastructure, but we should all be pulled back to NB.

They need to get rid of real estate services

Stop the damn space rates

Get rid of the gymnasium

Get rid of the cafeteria

Get rid of the daycare

We have way too much going out and NOTHING coming in!
