It took a decade for x86 the little engine that was far inferior to SPARC, Alpha, PARISC, MIPS, and Power to crush them all and others. X86 did it with huge volume backed by faster architecture and process innovation and completion from AMD. Think about intels innovation, things like Tejas, and Itanium. All true innovation came from others that Intel had to copy!

The idiots at Intel never acknowledged the billions per year of ARMy and cut throatscompetition for Apple, Huawei, Qualcomm, Samsung, Mediatiex riding Samsung and TSMC to make the same play on Intel.

Intel volumes and factory smaller and can't compete with TSMC nor Samsung. ARMy competition have forced a decade plus of fierce design and process cadency faster than Intel and next year the house of cards collapses. Intel management and cultural simply doesn't know how to compete even with the Qualcomm retreads here!

Nothing 🤡, Murthy, or Sohail and others can do. What happened to them all? The fate for Intel is worse, only a little more time as the tipping point has passed at 22nm about 5 years ago with wrong ACTs if every kind

The threat isn’t so much AMD and Baidu in the datacenter. The real threat is Serverless cloud compute already going full speed ahead on Azure, AWS, and Google. With Serverless computing, the applications are written so it matters not what hardware is used – x86, ARM, or whatever comes next. There is no need to run on or emulate x86 for these applications. Intel has the market share of that hardware right now, but the Intel footprint in the cloud data center will start to erode quickly as more and more cloud applications are developed for the Serverless environment. Intel is conditioned to think that ARM and AMD are the enemy, but it is the big cloud providers working hardest to eliminate expensive Intel processors from the data center. The battle really is Intel versus the big cloud providers who need to reduce the cost of providing compute power. Intel can probably smack down AMD and ARM in the enterprise data center, but good luck fighting the innovation talent at Google, Amazon AWS, and Microsoft. To think otherwise at this point is just sticking your head in the sand.
