@2jgb - In many respects, the tired, drab look of the 'casual engineering exec' needed updating. I am happy to say that since leaving Intel, I have thrown away all of my Dockers and upgraded to nicer clothes. You should, too.

That's a nice photo in that article. I like the dental work on that smile. Some quality stuff is going on there. Teeth whitening done with care, a brilliant smile... Hair freshly dyed, a Hong Kong custom-tailored suit, Eaton white shirt and Turnbull & Asser necktie...

Intel has finally realised though little late. They should have sent these useless crowd first. Organisation is bloated like aelephant bellly with many layers of management manager, Sr managers, directors, Sr directors, VPs, Sr VP, PE and SR PE etc. manager for 2 people, director for team with few people...!!. Frankly speaking they dont contribute anything except status collection. I have seen manager leading technical team clueless about their work nor they tried learn. All the meeting they invite architects to do thier Job and they keep him/her as neck to chock and scape goat to adjust bell curve. So called many director they dont know thier direction, clueless about team vision, shared goals, most of them useless thugs, they are having great time in intel with fat salary with good network and connection with NULL contribution. Only thing they do extremely well is pass thier AR from top to down !!. Once in a while they do skip level and town meeting, overall zero contribution to technology or product. They just keep moving from group to group, majority of them lack basic technology know how, incapable of providing direction to thier team and vision of roadmap. Most useless people in organisation in intel are directors and sr directors and most of principal engineers too. Intel should have identified and sent them out first followed by redudant techinical boot and a-- leakers. There should be ACT to execute these useless manipulators and corporate politicians !

One exec that actually has told the truth about a grim situation. These people that are filling meeting rooms only to play on their laptops and phones are overkill. Thank you, Bob, for recognizing this substantial fat. They know who they are and are probably looking over their shoulder right now to see who else they may eradicate before they get the boot. Just to remain unproductive and receive a paycheck, but ruin other people's lives in the meantime. These sheep need to be led to slaughternouse.

Well, okay, Mr. Swan is correct, doubling market value notwithstanding.

There ARE too many layers, too many people at too many meetings. It IS ridiculous, and he called it out. For that, everyone should give him credit. But yeah, no way is he doubling market cap without extremely heavy and ugly layoffs (which is why we are all here).

They need fund the Olympics which is critical on their market opportunities. In the meantime let's use Bezos 2 pizza meeting footprint to see how many folks need to attend meetings.

Intel can't compete with its current cost structure and situation at TMG in any market that has competitors. The rest of the technology world is familiar with cutthroat competition and Intel is not.

Big storm clouds on the horizon as Intel tries and fails in anything but x86

The company has pledged massive spending reductions over the next three years to boost profits at a time of slowly growing sales.

Means:

We will proceed with continuous layoffs over the next 3 years as our CEO is too stupid to exploit new market opportunities.

Quick! We need some emojis to prove that this layoff story from the CFO is not true.

Double market value, really he thinks he can get the stock to 60+?

Market willing to pay double the P/E?

Where will the growth and margins come from?

Big ACTs are for sure among other necessary ACTs
