Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

August 24th or August 29th?

Do we have any reliable information on which one of these two days is correct? There are people who are swearing by the first date, and nearly as many who are claiming that it is the second. I know it does not make much of a difference in the long run, but I'd still like to know.

I had a member on Monday ask me to call them again on Thursday afternoon. I'm like, "yeah, sure Thursday" and in the back of my mind, wondering if I'll be in the layoff meeting or told to take 1/2 day pto. But it might not be Thursday at all. So there's that.

I swear I wasn't a worrier or overthinker at work before this year, but now I can't even schedule a call without a mini freak out! Yes to those drinks, please...

NEWS FLASH! I was told on Thursday. I cannot divulge any more other than I was in the right place at the right time. Prob the same person who pretended to be Coach 22 to upset everyone. It was going to be changed due to big meeting but it was decided to go ahead and do it. Either way it will happen eventually. The sooner the better to stop all the bickering and one upsmanship

Ha! I find it humorous that another meaning of "privy" is "toilet"...it sort of puts things in perspective. Just a little bathroom humor to lighten the mood. Half of us may be going down the drain together. Happy flushing.

Unite yes! Should we plan a bar to meet at the day the layoff is announced? It will be 5 o'clock somewhere!

Lmao to the below poster!!!! You have me in stitches!!! Haha My privy source told me that the original layoff date was scheduled for the 24th but changed to the last week of the month lol

if your privied source told you a few weeks ago it will be the 24th- NEWS FLASH- the date did change.

So technically you WERE correct, however it will be the last week of month!

Don't be offended by what you know or what you think you know. We all on this sinking ship together. HAH peeps- time to UNITE😉 I do wish you all amazing people good luck!

"My very reliable inside source says the 24th. My source is privy to this info and has not been wrong yet". Your PRIVY source is about to be wrong!!!! My Privy source is better than your privy source.

It does make sense that they'd want that many members alerted over the phone instead of just st a letter. But then no need to tell us that the timelines was related to HR's expediency.

Yes they do.

Do if HR has it all done, what's the holdup with telling us? Do they sincerely want these members graduated?

Previous poster, layoffs are for Humana at Home. Roles of RS, PHC and CHE. They anticipate massive cuts 50% at a minimum!

HR has processed the paperwork

I was really hoping for the literal end of the month, August 31, which is a Thursday. Then the following Monday is Labor Day so it's one less work day to keep up appearances during the last week of being "on the job."

Sorry, I don't know what my autocorrect is trying to do. Below post should say timeline, not timeless be.

JR told us that the timeless be depended on how quickly HR could put the paperwork together. Surely by this Thurs, they have had more than enough time? I just need to know either way. I know we will know soon enough, it's just been so stressful.

Haha. The only things these layoffs have motivated me to do is job hunt!

They won't drag it on as a motivator. Come on! It will happen this week.

I agree with your thoughts. What if they decide to drag it out another month? Or maybe 3 months, who knows. Fear is a great motivator after all. I just try to enjoy each day at this point...one day at a time...sometimes one hour at a time...well I'm still employed for this HOUR so let's focus on that. This is a sad situation.
