Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Keeping expensive consultants on

NDC laid off full time employees and still kept consultants at 120$/hr. Does anyone think and know of managers/directors cut on this. This should be exposed.

If this is true, this is truly ridiculous. Not sure what can be done about it, but the whole "let go of older employees because they earn more" kind of seems suspicious now, with this in play.

Then perhaps you should come back as a contractor if your position is eliminated and there is a need. Instead of whining - check the attitude at the door --- people remember the behavior of people they work with.. There is not a day I don't walk through the halls of Dell and see even Dell Badge people - with massive attitudes - they seam more so then the contractors. Not all dell people - but quite a few..

it is a good move. Dell has always been an operations company. keeping the consultants by hourly rate is smart because Dell can say goodbye b--ch any time when they do not need anymore innovation which is the goal. the goal is to be stable operational boring.

People have gotten so hopelessly stupid they don’t know the basics. They don’t know what money is. They don’t know what food is. That don’t know what a man or a woman is.

there are plenty of competent folks who earn 220K in google , amazon, microsoft, etc. Why not in Dell too if they are productive and generating great ideas which will save a product or a whole division? What's the problem?
