Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Where can I find information about One Touch (Sears)?

Management is being super secretive about this process other than saying we are emptying our stock rooms. Not only that, there's no information that I can find on SHC Connect (job aids) or Pebble.

How do I find it and what do I search for? I know it has to be on SHC Connect somewhere?

Simple Store will be a failed initiative, no doubt. I can just picture the media going into random stores photographing pallets of merchandise in the middle of the aisles for weeks at a time because there's not enough people to put it out.

When it finally does get put away, merchandise will be crammed on shelves and fixtures. There will be no choice because according to corporate and district management, it cannot go into a stock room.

In some cases, categories of merchandise will be mixed because there's no room for it in its proper area. Pick a hand soap off of the ettigeire next to the Craftsman drills, or pick a scarf out of the bin between the Kenmore washers and dryers. Hey, it's suggestive selling!

Meanwhile, no one will be able find anyone to answer questions, sell them something or check out...still.

I sell on commission. The moment they make me do the tasks the backroom used to do is the moment I will walk out the door for good. There are only so many ways we can be exploited before everyone working for Sears reaches a breaking point.

The goal of the one touch program isn't to get the product in view of the customers. The goal is to significantly reduce the backroom hours by eliminating the need to sort and locate.

Nothing new here, a typical SHLD rollout of a new initiative; FUBAR from the start. The world would probably come to a halt in amazement if SHLD could launch and follow through successfully on just one of its numerous initiatives. Instead, SHLD just continues to add to its portfolio of monumental failures!

The management is silent because even they don't know how it works.

You are putting all stock on the sales floor no more locating stock unless it's big ticket items like refrigerators, stoves, patio, etc.,. My problem with this is, if they didn't buy it then, what makes them think dumping all this merchandise on the floor is going to make them buy it now.

So your management wants you to perform one touch or whatever but won't give you any info? Ridiculous of them. I'm not involved with the backroom but my store is going to start it and the lead was told about it. Should one touch be a secret? That's more bizarre than the usual at Sears. Could it be on SHC under a different name?
