Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Has anyone else been told HCMs will be ordering their own HW articles starting in Sept or this another stupid lie on here?

I have not heard any other talk of this.

Some names were mentioned, those posts have been removed (as far as I can remember) - I"ve never seen a post in which someone was threatened, we have a fairly civil discussion going on here

Hcmss poster, I agree, sad, some folks do that. But, there are also some pretty darn amazing folks, out there, too! But, I also agree, that I really don't use my degree or training, it's frustrating, but it seems to be the Humana set up of the program.

Hcm ss here....had to comment on the comment. "Its all beneath our skill sets, most of us do it for the pay and wah benefit.... That is reality"... so true....there have been so many tasks related to benefits that the Tasker could have transferred the member to CS for the answer, but, it is faster for the Tasker to put it in a queue for the member to wait for an hcmss to call to assist with the call to CS. Yes, many times we've become the dumping ground for things others don't feel they have the time to do...sadly, half the tasks aren't social work related, but things done for the convenience of the Tasker, not the member....

Im not sure why many continue to put other roles down during this time... Just social work degrees? Ive done medical social work for over 10 years... Ive had the opportunity to have training in medical based information and honestly have had more knowledge then other professions that are medical.....and i know theres many of us who have, a lot of us where field care managers before coming into the phc position, we worked directly with members... But i am not putting down orher fields or positions... The reality is that the structure of careers at humana telephonic roles is that doing it the way humana wants us to is so directed that even someone without experience could do it! Its all beneath our skill sets, most of us do it for the pay and wah benefit.... That is reality

SNP CHEs are on the chopping block too this round.

Just putting this out there. SNP doesn't send CRDs nor PAPs and I heard rumors that HCCP/Live Healthy may be going in that direction as well. What does that leave for CHEs to do? Sounds like CHEs will be doing clerical work and that is all. Ordering items off of OES like you work in a catalog order entry position. So basically CHEs are all putting their degrees and knowledge to such excellent use . The lack of respect from upper management for the CHEs is disheartening since many of the CHEs have advanced degrees in health related fields; unlike some of the PHCs who have social work and psychology backgrounds CHEs actually have knowledge of health and medical issues.

*I am not knocking PHCs and the wonderful work they do and people that they are. Just stating a point about knowledge base and how HAH leverages the talent that they have.

I commented on another thread that CHEs are probably going to disappear because nobody in the industry is using them except Humana. From what I can tell job searching. Looking like they will be gone sooner than later based on the evidence.

CHE here....HW batching was just announced in our team meeting. We were asked to not share with HCMs since they haven't been informed yet. Yes it's real, it is scheduled to start Mid-Sept.

Thanks and you can't fault me for questioning news since someone has been posing as a coach and posting stupid lies

CHE here: it's called Healthwise Batch Printing and starting mid September, CMs will be ordering and mailing HW articles. CHEs will no longer be sending them. We will however still do oes, crd, .gov, etc. we just found out in our team meeting yesterday!

I think you may be thinking people are being rude because of your question you said "or is this another stupid lie".... I mean you kind of started the negativity with posting like that but yeah I say ask your coach...

I am the OP and missing my team meeting due to PTO. I have not had a chance to catch up on what was discussed. Then people have to be completely rude about it. Give me a break!

Why is this being communicated to some and not others? Especially during this new era of transparency that leadership has advertised.

Odd that the HCMs have no knowledge of this. Don't you love the transparency?

My coach is not available right now, but thanks for the utter rudeness! And the person posting yesterday said she heard it from a "friend" who is a CHE. Just curious because no one else mentioned this and there have been numerous lies posted lately to stir us up.
