Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Just a couple more weeks and we'll know...

Just over two more weeks left in Aug and this mystery will be solved one way or another. I'm going to be so burned out by the end of this month - between the stress of what's ahead and graduating these members - I'm looking forward to knowing something either way.

I'm having a really tough month, and members are expressing how tired they are of getting passed around and called by so many different people. I've never felt such burnout before. I guess it's all the stress combined.

Yeah, I don't think anyone will be looking to MF for words of comfort or even helpful information during all of this....

Well said, original poster. It is difficult to be Mary Sunshine in the face of all this upheaval. I feel the breeze of that axe swinging over my head, and at the same time I would be somewhat relieved to have it finally fall. For the past week I've felt like an executioner myself, to my longtime members, having to tell them about disenrollment. Sad times for all.

Hahaha. Business is business! It's never personal - except when business men are living in unnecessary level of luxury and their employees can't feed their family. That's not business - that's monstrous.

Wishing everyone the best in the next two weeks. It will be over and much, much, much better things are in the future.

If leadership is not at fault for the way these members feel harassed lately, then who is? Members are disgusted at how aggressive this program has become. Where does the buck stop?

People can be frustrated and also, at the same time, understand that this is business. People can vent while understanding the corporate world can be cold. It's a stressful time, people are capable of understanding both truths. Enough with the "this is business, deal with it" rhetoric. We get that part of it.

Yes, that call when he answered a question about increased stress with "perhaps it is self imposed." Made my stomach turn when he said that.

Woah, I'm the OP and I didn't intend to start a debate about leadership. This took a turn quickly. The passionate defense of MF might be best communicatated on another thread. This post was supposed to be about getting through the next 2 weeks.

People didn't like Mike Franke due to his demeanor since the topic of stress in an all associate call earlier this year. I understand it is business but when dealing with layoffs, he has no heart.

Quit blaming it all on Mike Franke. He is doing the job he was hired for. He is picking up the pieces of former leaders who had no business sense! Don't you think if he had been the one to screw it all up that his bosses would have let him go by now? He has a boss too who he answers to. I know you feel the need to blame someone during this immense time of stress, but come on. There are no leaders who are sitting back and enjoying the misery we are in. Give me a break! This is all business. It's not personal! If you can't handle big business then don't work for a large corporation. Go to work for a small non-profit where they are more touchy feely. This is the nature of Fortune 500 companies. Doesn't mean the leaders get pleasure in layoffs. We are all on edge but placing the blame solely on one person is ludicrous! This is the risk we all took coming here. It's a gamble at any company, large or small!

It's hard. Even those of us who have tried to stay positive this year are reaching a point of total frustration and burnout. The members are hanging up or not answering or yelling after all of this moving around. Every day is a struggle.

Yes I feel like I'm in misery. My chest hurts I have 0% motivation. People are not going to go and quit vs getting severance so just let us know! Mike Franke is loving this sh-- he is defiantly not built to be in control of a project where we are trying to help people. He's a greedy businessman who s---s at his job hense the falling apart since he took over.Joe seems to have some human side and surely he knows the stress this is putting us in. I'm ready for everyone to just throw our hands up and say no more until we get answers!
