All this waiting and worrying and waiting to find out if it is minor cuts, massive layoffs, or something in between is unbearable.

Maybe the ELT is actually considering becoming a true independent, and the deep cuts that come with that are giving them pause.
Why this week? We like to extend the misery as long as we can.

How to explain to management when they ask me why I'm not getting anything done....
Genie (1mai) has it right and must work in communications. The ELT and their entourage are oblivious and apathetic to the operational inefficiencies and low staff morale. They don't know and they don't care.
All sounds very prescient to me. But don't forget, all thise layed off in the bext round will be referred to as "dead wood" in posts on layoff.com by a few snarky trolls.
You will get more out by picking your nose than anything communicated by the fearless leaders. You should already know what they are going to say! Same BS they said last round!
Heard that there will be townhall and will read list of people still employed this week across all the BUs.
tired of ll this, hope they get the plan out soon
1ffu and 1mai clearly have excellent crystal balls; don't hold your breath that anything of value will be communicated.
I've seen the preliminary results: after 6 months of study and a $30 million fee, the BCG have documented and proved in a PowerPoint presentation that the ELT is underpaid and that 68% of the shareholders are stupid. They will layoff 40% of the employees and then reward the ELT with a 50% raise.
Expect 25-40% cuts, depending on where you sit. It's going to be nasty. Good luck to all.
Genie says: It'll be something like: "The study shows we are well positioned as a leader among our peers. After strategic right-sizing we will deliver even stronger value to shareholders." Then assets will get sold, some employees will get laid off, senior managers will get raises.
There will be a communication it just isn't going to tell us much.
