I certainly won't sleep Monday night in anticipation for that confidential email. I am relieved to know it will all be over soon. I am spending this entire weekend job hunting and sending out resumes. I will feel better knowing I am prepared. I just made an appointment at my bank for Thursday to refinance my mortgage. I will cancel all my extras at home, cable, Netflix etc to save some money. I won't need business class internet so that will save money.
I do kick myself for not taking advantage of tuition reimbursement to get my masters degree while here. I could have been done by now! There are very few jobs in my area for PHCs and CHEs laid off and now the job market will be saturated with people having the same qualifications. My masters would have helped! Someone in the last layoff said she applied to a job and there were over 500 applicants in Ohio. How do you compete with that? She was competing with kids about to graduate college. She said what little she did at Humana she quickly found she only qualified her for entry level jobs at a lower pay. That is our reality. No upward movement while we were here keeps us entry level with every other college senior looking for their first job!
