Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Millennials will save Intel

Last year I participated in the Millenial Conference at Intel where we discussed how to get Millenials more involved in the decision making. The problem with Intel is that management aren't listening to Millenials. If Millenials were heard, things would be running much better and Nvidia and AMD would be running for cover.

@3kfs - Your compensation may be low but you need to realize you are working on leading edge technology and cutting edge initiatives. Don't let the fake news get to you. I know a lot about tech companies and believe me Intel is a great company.

Yup work like a dog and if above average to joe superstar get what 10-15% more than joe idiot.

Don't matter how great you are, intel is a 60 billion dollar company soon to sink like the Titanic. A few brilliant minds will just be wasted at this sorry a$$ of a company where little great has been produced recently.

The young, ambitious, and anyone who wants a bright future is an idiot to stay at this idiot led company!

Millennials save intel? At grade 7, SSL1 gives 24K worth of rsus and ssl2 is about 13K. I'm sorry, I used to work 12 hrs consistently at intel. As a millennial, I realized even when I contributed 5x more than others, I only got paid 20-30% and the director asked me to be happy with that.

Other top companies pay rsu based on contribution level, and that amount easily doubles the Tirol compenesatiob. Those very best millennials were already gone. We are not gonna be trapped or help get intel better.

Millenials don't want to be chained to a tiny call centre cube for starters

So many bull💩it programs in HR.

HR Retention line does nothing for starters - will tell you to network, apply for other jobs and offer help in doing resume.

All the recruiters in HR sitting around collecting checks when company is in need of shedding employees.

Getting rid of freelance consultants within Intel was best !!

The fact that Intel HR or management held a millennial conference shows how totally and ridiculously incompetent Intel HR is. Remember the idiot HR leader Richard Taylor who nearly destroyed the company with his idiotic strategies and arrogance? Mooly Eden was wise enough to get out once he saw the sociopaths taking over Intel. Richard's legacy lives at Intel -- it was ACT, terrible HR policies, nepotism, arrogance and all of the other bad traits that live on at Intel.

Mostly, why would any Millenial want to work for Intel?

Semiconductors in general are old tech - no one really wants to go there out of school.

@1ljb -- 9:30 to 4?? Sounds a lot like Austin. Good thing they shut down CDC and Dupont... they were too efficient and made the big sites look bad with all that operational excellence and dedication.

A lot of millennials demonstrate weaker task initiative and results orientation. In by 930, and out around 4pm. Of course, some are capable of becoming innovators. Today's younger generation has been s---ed into mobile phones and apps and don't accept criticism very easily. Agree?

The only thing that will save Intel is draining the swamp. CEO and BoD all need to leave, that won't happen as they continue to cling on the life rafts until the end.

Good luck with that!

BK, Murthy and the rest of the management team are entrenched dinosaurs.

I don't think there's even significant GenX representation at VP level or higher, let alone millenials.
