The problem with BBB are many. There idea's on running this company are in the dark ages. From old technology, no up grades to the POS system sooo out of date. The return policy is a joke. they would rather let the "Customer lie and cheat them out of millons on a monthy basis" then value the employee's. At the store I was at in 1 week alone the returns brought back to the store and then given out for donations was 27,000 dollars. all to allow the customer the open ended return policy. Why don't we just put a sign up thats says " use the items you bought and retun them when ever you want no questions asked and we do it with a smile and thank you for shopping at BBB. Heaven forbid we try and protect the store from stolen product and then being returned for a store credit and that credit being sold out on the street. The theft in all of the BBB is out of control and the company says don't go after them. the staffs saftey is of the most importance....... What a crock of cow manuer..with this lastest move....Shame on you CEO Steve for taking the 10 mill plus you so did not deserve..... I hope you truley get what is coming to you...You must not have a concious or believe in a higher power

So what are we supppse to do???? I have no insurance now, 401k. Go to welfare office and get free cheese??? After all those years of hard work??? How can you do this to us???
Those of us "that survived" are hurting for you. Every few hours we hear about another person lost..another manager down the line somewhere that has mentored us in some way.. and it's heartbreaking.
I can't figure out how to post a picture, but I would post the letter from mysource for you if I could.
I got the memo from a friend that works there as a partimer. Shame on you did you forget we still have friends that work there.
Jonathan, the WARN Act does not apply when there are less than 50 people losing their jobs at an single location. I was thinking the same thing you were. Unlikely a company of this size would miss something so obvious.
Maybe now they can afford a decent POS system.
stores in jersey. All district mgrs store mgrs all top dogs. You all get bonuses because of us. While we got nothing especially when we did the work.
Is severance pay the same as pay in lieu of notice?
Those wages are severance pay. Wages in lieu of notice are additional wages that the employer is not obligated to pay. They are paid only because the employer has chosen not to give the employee notice of termination in advance of the date of termination. ... No obligation + no notice = wages in lieu of notice.
Is severance pay wages in CA?
Under California law, severance pay is not considered wages for unemployment purposes. Instead, it is considered a payment in recognition of your past service. Even if it is paid out in installments, as yours will be, it doesn't count against your unemployment.
Does anyone know why they didn't give those laid off a 60-day notice of the impending layoff as required by the WARN Act?? There are penalties for not providing notice when there are large layoffs coming.
The only memo I saw on Mysource was the announcement that they were making the associate appreciation days even bigger this year. Good luck, it'll be hard to top that photocopied 8x10 graphic they emailed to the stores earlier in the year. No expense spared.
All Macy's sales associates share your same frustrations.....exactly.......just different name on the building......
Most people fired yesterday were long time employees with ages ranging between 40 and 60 years old. Is discrimination the case here? It looks like it is. 900 people filling a class act suit would not be a bad idea. The top bosses (District Managers and up at store level and corporate office managers) still keep getting their huge bonuses at the cost of these hard working people.
Shame on you Bad Bath & Beyond!
Can someone post the memo here ( mysource / bednet ) for us who departed
Wait...I don't have a PhD in Mathematics, but how does going from a $10 billion company to just under $3 billion in under 2 years constitute a performance bonus of $10 million for a CEO who is out of touch with the reality of retail in 2017????
Wow, I think I ought to go back to school and make this my thesis!
Fired...can't get anymore thru those resouces

Corpoartes phlosphy is if it aint broke don't fix it..... Hence the reason he is still the CEO.
the board needs to get a CLUE
It's on mysource but it's easier to find on bednet
What memo??? I didn't see or get any memo from the over bloated Ceo Steve
Well said. The memo Steve sent out to employees today was disgusting. When you are letting go of 900 managers, it's not the time to self promote! I hope that memo ends up on the news - what a piece of sh-- he is.
