I think they should start with the entire Management Team at the club I'm in. Absolutely no clue, no work ethic, it's a Big Joke!! I say let them have every bit of it. They will be the next ones looking for new jobs. If you have worked for this company any length of time and have been able to survive and do what is asked of you on a daily basis and bend over backwards to accommodate the massive changes that are constantly evolving in all areas of the club. I would think there would absolutely be no reason in the world why we would have any trouble finding a better fit for any of us with better organization.

Does anyone know when this will happen? Maybe I better get vacations in.

I think we are all nervous about our job. I've heard most people have 2 people overnight receiving. The audits that home office wants done are supposed to be done by team leaders not receiving. We aren't supposed to do no movement, neg on hand, or wcoh anymore (per the chart sent out by home office when audit team was let go) but I know a lot of people are still doing them. Now that produce is supposed to scan out their own damages and they don't sign out a damage sheet with claims that proves to me home office isn't concerned about wcoh. No reason just to check bol or dd claims that are computer generated. Not much is hand keyed anymore. And with new ta shipping we aren't required to file bols anymore in claims. Things are changing and some of us old schoolers are finding it hard to adjust.

That motion of them coming in later will not work in our club. I already come in at 3 or 4 most days to help my 1 night receiver get done .. I do the claims reports, wcoh a lot of the audit stuff. Home office sure don't realize what we do to think they can go from 2 full timers to 1 part time. I hope this is not true but probably most is. Just wish I knew when??

Focus is for overnight receiving. Don't need them during day especially with more ASN happening. Motion to put night receiver to come in a later and work later in morning to cover local vendors. Leave part timer receiving during day with claims to help during day.

If it frees up so much time May be they will put claims part time and leave a receiving person

The TA shipping is freeing up time too. Not just the lack of keying produce etc. Looking at it....no more filing bols, no more calling carriers and the parcel label prints automatically. I'm a high volume club and don't have enough to do as it is. Some weeks at 40 but most only need about 25 and looking for people i can help in other areas.

I was told books are changing as well. Right now our magazine rep pulls covers on lots of the books at walmarts. Only certain ones are returned. What happens there trickles down to Sam's.

And I used to think the audit team was irreplaceable as well.

keying damages in claims for produce and f/c does not take that long. It will not free up enough time to do both jobs. I have worked in claims and now i am the lead in receiving. They will have to take away a lot more jobs from them to free that much time. I here they are going to 1 person in receiving. There will be no lead or clerk just a worker. But only time will tell.

Our claims associate said they been on it for months now.Must be implementing all of it now.I guess receiving will find out soon about their position

Type in TA shipping on wire search. It specifically states Sam's on it too. It's coming people. I think it will make claims job easier. They just gave produce damages to produce. My bet is that freezer area and other areas will be scanning out there own damages soon enough. We will be left with extra time to fill in for receiving during day. Just hoping we still have full time positions.

So what does this mean for claims? Should we all be looking for another position or job?

Gidget217 I agree with you 100 percent,,there is not one other person in my club that knows how to pay invoices or take care of liquor prices or deal with the D.C. when we are missing something or we get something that isn't ours and all the other things that you have mentioned ..and we don't make nearly the amount of money that we should...we put our all into it and get booted out when they do there so called restructuring just another word for we want to get rid of you...there is no way that the claims associate can do both if you work in receiving you would know that..not in my club anyways..

When is this happening? I am a clerk that works in a high level club that receives a lot of freight during the daytime hours and no, one person can not do it by themselves. It's sad the direction the company is going to, no more audit teams ( shrink is horrible and inventory is a joke now because your number is not really accurate) you want to get rid of the associates have at it, when they tell me my job has been eliminated I will be upset but also relieved. Good luck to the club when that happens because who will do the following: take the appointments, correct errors, contact the DC when pallets are missing or the quantities are wrong, call buyers to get merchandise in, put in the supply order, deal with the service channel, pay the bills, handle all of the liquor problems like pricing, taxes etc, oh and help the dock receive the merchandise in. The long term associates are the heart of the clubs and so knowledgeable and now someone has decided that we should find a way to get rid of these positions because what we make to much money? So every raise I earned over the years I am now going to be penalized for because someone at homeoffice feels I am making too much money and I need to do more? Oh and besides working in the back room as an office position I am also helping out in the floor and that has been going on for years. And the new people that are hired have no work ethics and could care less about working, you are lucky if half of them even make it after the first 90 days or so. I wish everyone luck and if HO is going to do it let's get it done now before you screw me over during the holidays or 4th quarter.

As far as i know, no one is checking off wcoh recaps. ASN still has to be received, and locals such as soda, beer, ups and fdex still have to be verified. Not to mention you must also CIM, tag and stage all freight. All of this takes time. This is why errors occur in receiving, which results in paper shrink. Without audit team not there to catch errors will result in high shrink for all clubs. Oh and don't forget someone still has to answer phone to make appointments. One person can not handle all this BS.

Exactly!

You're right they will need someone in day time to do the receiving. But it may be only 1 person. The claims partner. People making these decisions think they have simplified receiving with ASN and removing detail verification if dry/fresh DC's to point that it only takes "a few minutes" to check things in. So why shouldn't 1 person be able to handle both areas, part-time? Doesn't matter that the actual programs aren't working properly. On paper it looks good to someone so why not go ahead and flip the switch.

You people keep saying they are removing all of receiving. I don't see how they can get rid of everyone back there. Who will receive the freight that comes in during the day? I know a lot of it is asn but someone has to do that. ASN doesn't work how it should. If someone knows if they tested in a test club let me know how that works. I look for them to get rid of the lead spot and receiving clerk but just keep someone back there to check in freight. When they got rid of the audit team(me ) the lead took on a lot of the reports so. I sure hope the managers are ready to take over all them. Please if anyone has for sure details Please pass it on. All this speculation is driving me crazy. And when will all this happen any ideas??

Are Wal-Mart has receiving so what do you mean they got rid of receiving. Claims doesn't have a lot to do with receiving.

Its a "simplified" claims process for returns and transfers. It creates a BOL, it decides or bids out the carrier that will pick up what is being shipped out. I believe its the same process Walmart went to when they removed receiving.

Tiberius,

Since some of us may not be familiar with "Walmart's TA Shipping Tool," can you please explain exactly what that is?
