Posted here to allow Mr Hurd's words to speak louder than the sniping from commenters here.

To be more accurate, we tested on PDC VMs. We couldn't test in a real cloud environment.

Last year I was working on an Oracle public cloud service as a developer before I left. Developers could not get access to OPC because of insufficient capacity. We couldn't test before going live! Has it changed recently?

Laughable that MH and his minions would be posting his speaches here - you'd think that if anybody can pick them apart it would be oracle employees/ x-employees visiting this site. So now the whole world can learn what's wrong with What MH has to say. A brilliant Trumpian self-goal by MH&Co

Cannot agree more

MH is paid to be confident, persuasive and well spoken.

That is all he has

MHs words don't speak loudly because they are empty.

For example, "Its like the hotel business. The problem is, you have to build a hotel and its got to be finished before you can rent any rooms. While the hotel is going up, there's no revenue. Once the hotel is finished, you can start renting rooms." The reality is that Oracle is trying to rent rooms while it is still building the "hotel". Large customers have signed deals to use the Oracle Cloud only to be told that there isn't room for them yet. Oracle employees don't have access to live Cloud accounts because there isn't room for them to spend time learning or running demos. A core property of Cloud is rapid elasticity -- capacity is just there for a customer to use on-demand -- so Oracle doesn't even have a real "Cloud" at this point. It is all marketing and spin.

MH is paid to be confident, persuasive and well spoken. He really has that all down. Just take his comments to CNBC in May, "I saw a report that we were cutting our sales force, there is no merit to that whatsoever." The problem was that it was an outright lie. MH can make all the statements he wants, but his credibility is shot because his actions are out of line with his words.
